2015 5th Grade Showcase

I can't say enough about my 5th graders of 2014-2015...they are just amazing! I am truly going to miss them next year. The showcase last week was one of my favorite performances so far in all the years I've been at Hudsonville. I am so glad that I decided to change our 5th grade curriculum to include ukuleles a couple of years ago. These instruments have brought so much joy and rich musical understanding to our students at South. It's remarkable to see students using the skills they've learned in music classes throughout the years come to life on an instrument like the ukulele.
Our showcase was designed to be a capstone presentation of our music curriculum at South, and it also serves as a way for individual students to shine. From ukulele playing, singing, piano playing, dancing, to playing drum set...these students really shine bright!
