3rd Grade Creative Dance Compositions (2014-15)
Post date: Apr 15, 2015
Recently, 3rd graders created their own dances to the song "Pata Pata". The students were given two parameters: (1) Your dance must have four different dance moves (one for each phrase), and (2) each dance move must be eight beats long. They were allowed to be creative about everything else. Watch the video and take a look at the variety of dance moves the students came up with. Some used stationary movement the whole time, some used locomotor movement. Some groups used macrobeats for each move, others moved to microbeats. Some moves consisted of eight consecutive motions, and other motions were split into groups of two or four. Many groups mixed up their use of hands and feet to feel the beat. Watch and enjoy the creativity of our 3rd graders!
