1st Graders: Postman (Resting Tone Activity)

Here are the first graders demonstrating a game where each student gets a chance to sing the resting tone of a song when an envelope is delivered to them. The resting tone is like "home base" of any given song. It gives me a great opportunity to assess if students are able to sing the correct pitch, and we can use the same kind of activity later and extend it to have students create their own tonal patterns when the letter is handed to them. In the video you will see Ms. Blakeney, a senior at Grand Haven High School, who was job shadowing me for the day. She had a great time hanging out with our wonderful South students.
